We did it!

Sarah Palin was nominated to be the next Vice President of the United States today. This is a red letter day for me, because now I’ve found a real reason to vote in the upcoming election.
I respect everything about this woman, and I mean everything.
For my daughter, I hope you’ll watch Governor Palin’s acceptance speech and tell me you’d vote another way.

love your post, love palin, i feel the same way, finally so excited to vote!!
For my daughter, daughter-in-law, sisters and Mom, I will not be voting for McCain/Palin and, yes, I did listen to her speech. She did not impress me. Would I like to meet her? Yes. Would I like her to be VP? No. The only thing I have in common with her is gender.
My family is not better off than they were 4 years ago. I’m ready to try a change of policies.
I’m independent and was leaning toward McCain until he picked Sarah Palin. That day I have I have decided I’ll vote for McCain, he did a brilliant job on his first presidential act - picking the VP. Palin’s record as Mayor and Governor shows strengnt of character, firm convictions, love of country, and putting Americans first. While Obama spent 2 yrs of his 4 yrs in the Senate campaigning for the Presidency, Plain actually get things done in Alaska. She actually managed a town, currently running a state with the highest approval rating. I’m impressed! Her ability to clean up the corrupt Republican party in Alaska is truly remarkable.
WHY I’M NOT VOTING FOR OBAMA. He has no record to show that he can be change agent. I saw the CNN’s Obama Revealed where all his public life is that of seeking power - getting elected but his performance show nothing as far as reform and change - things he promises he’ll do as President. He’s an eloquent speaker - he inspired me. But when I listened again to his convention speech - I asked what is he exactly planning to do to supposedly effect change in Washington. He has never challenged anybody. He has no proof to show Americans that he’s prepared to lead this country. I like McCain’s strength of character. I’ll go for McCain!
I simply do not understand the women voting for Palin.
While I don’t believe candidates should be judged by their family members actions, when she is campaigning for no sex education in schools and no abortions while her own teenage daughter is unwed and pregnant how can any self respecting woman vote for her. She says she is proud of her daughters “choice”; a choice she allowed her daughter to have, but believes no other women should have the right to make this choice about their own bodies and beliefs, regardless of situations like rape or incest. This alone is a huge step backwards for all the rights women have achieved.
Should by horrible chance your own daughter be a victim of a traumatic rape (may it never happen) and be forced to go through with a pregnancy she finds psychologically and permanently damaging will you still be so pleased with your choice of vote? Will you still respect everything about this women when the first 12 or 13 year old to be forced to continue a pregnancy that has occurred as a result of violent rape is broadcasted on TV? Because there is no doubt that this will happen. How about when you hear the results of people who have felt forced to resort to dangerous back street abortion clinics?
Sarah is like an early fall morning’s breath of fresh air. She hasn’t been in the rat race long enuogh to be corruted and I pray she keeps it that away. We need strong leadership now more than ever for a failing USA I feel John and Sarah will give it their best and if the congress will get away from we are democrates and get some work done we may be able to get our wonderful country out of the mess we face today and in the future.
Palin is the best reason to vote for Obama. She is TOTALLY unqualified to be a heart beat away from being the president. Additionally the McCain ticket has no real energy plan and no sustainable plan for health care, the two biggest LONG TERM issues facing our country. Drill, drill, drill is no energy policy and does nothing to make us energy independent. We will be faced with more of the same policies that got us into such a terrible mess.
Given the current fuel shortages and the ridiculous prices of getting from point A to point B, the drilling should have begun eons ago.
